This means that unlike inferior CBD isolate oils, our drops contain a wide range of beneficial trace other cannabinoids and terpenes as well as cannabidiol (CBD), giving you more of the natural plant goodness and contributing to the entourage effect. The only thing we remove from our CBD drops are the banned (intoxicating) substances like THC and CBN, making our CBD oil legal in the UK and most of the world.

HOW BEST TO TAKE CBD OIL

Broad spectrum CBD oil drops with MCT (medium chain triglycerides) have great bioavailability, meaning they’re easy for your body to utilise.

For maximum absorption we recommend placing a few CBD drops under your tongue so the CBD can absorb through your mucus glands and get directly to the bloodstream, but you can also mix them with food or drink if you wish, although absorption will be much slower. Natural CBD Supplements

Our broad spectrum CBD oils (sometimes called CBD oil tinctures) are supplements containing only MCT oil (fractionated coconut oil) as a carrier oil and the highest quality broad spectrum CBD oil extracted from cannabis plants (hemp). This makes for mild-tasting oil drops that retain all the health benefits and make the CBD readily bioavailable to your body - ideal for maximum absorption. MCT oil also helps maintain an even concentration of CBD, keeping a consistent dose in each drop.

We don’t add any other additional ingredients to our CBD oil, so you can choose how and when to use your CBD supplements to best suit you. Our drops are made with 100% natural ingredients, gluten-free and suitable for vegetarians and vegans.

What CBD strength should I choose?

CBD works by stimulating your endocannabinoid system (ECS) to release the chemicals it needs to come back into balance (homeostasis).

Each person’s endocannabinoid system is unique, therefore so is the most appropriate dose of CBD oil for you. That’s why when you're first looking to buy CBD oil we suggest starting low and slowly building up your dose over time, to find the right amount for you to help maintain homeostasis. Beware anyone telling you there is a generic ‘optimal’ dose of CBD that suits everyone - this is pseudoscience.

We offer two strengths of CBD oil - 5% and 10%, with 2.5mg and 5mg (respectively) of CBD per drop. If you’re completely new to CBD then our 5% oil drops are a great starting place. Our 10% CBD oil drops represent the best value and most potent strength for regular users.

The UK Food Standards Agency has set a daily maximum dose of 70mg of CBD (ingested) for adults. We find that many of our customers report needing far less than this when taking our CBD oil.

Effective strengths for CBD skincare and other topical CBD products are entirely different to when ingested as CBD oil, as the CBD interacts with your body in a very different way when applied to the skin.

When taken under the tongue, CBD oil can be one of the most effective ways to ingest CBD - only surpassed by CBD patches and vapes. CBD products which incorporate CBD into foods or drinks often have far lower bioavailability as the CBD oil needs to be processed by your digestive system and liver before reaching your bloodstream and brain.

Laboratory-tested and accredited CBD oil

Every batch of our CBD oil is tested by a third-party UK government-approved laboratory for strength and purity. You can find the results here. We also test to ensure that there are no heavy metals or pesticides present (cannabis plants are amazing at extracting anything in the soil, which is why organic sourcing is so important).

In addition, we’re proud to be one of only a handful of CBD oil brands to be approved by the Medical Cannabis Clinicians Society as meeting their Criteria for Excellence. KLORIS CBD oil drops are fully registered under the FSA’s Novel Foods certification program, as required of all CBD supplements legally sold in the UK. We do not use CBD isolate in our drops, only the finest broad spectrum CBD distillate with MCT oil.

Consuming CBD oil - things to be aware of

As CBD is an active substance please check with your doctor or another healthcare professional before taking CBD products if you have any medical conditions or are taking any other medications.

CBD oral drops are not recommended for use by children or pregnant or breastfeeding women, as a precaution due to the lack of relevant safety research. While many people talk about CBD oil for pets, it is actually illegal to market it for animal use in the UK, or to give CBD oil to animals without a veterinary prescription.

Sometimes CBD oils are mistakenly referred to as CBD tinctures but these are not the same thing, a tincture uses an alcohol base (not oil) to hold the ingredients and CBD is not naturally soluble in alcohol.

Hemp seed oil is also often commonly mistaken for CBD oil. Hemp oil itself comes from the seeds of the hemp plant, which contain no CBD at all. Unless your hemp oil has had CBD extract added to it, the product will contain no CBD.

CBD Shelf-Life

Our CBD oils have a shelf life of two years unopened and are good for six months from opening. We recommend storing at room temperature and out of direct sunlight. The amber glass bottles we use help protect the contents from ultraviolet light, which can degrade CBD.

We keep samples and retest our batches of CBD oil for stability months after manufacture, to ensure the concentration of CBD remains stable in the long term and you continue the get the natural goodness of the hemp plant.

Is CBD legal?

Yes! CBD products are legal in the UK provided the CBD oil has been derived from approved strains of hemp and the THC and CBN have been removed. Ingestible products like CBD oil also have to have been available before 13th February 2020 and have a valid novel foods application filed with the FSA.
